The Short Version
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter, model selections, and results are not sent to or stored on a TokenRateCalc server. There is no account system and nothing to sign up for.
What Happens When You Use the Calculator
- Calculations happen locally. Your token counts, model choice, and every cost figure are computed in your browser using JavaScript. None of it is transmitted to us.
- Custom models are saved in your browser only. If you add a custom model, it's stored using your browser's local storage on your device. It is never sent to a server and is not visible to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.
- Shareable links encode your inputs into the URL itself. If you use the share feature, your settings are written into the link you copy. Nothing is stored on our end when you generate that link, it only exists in the URL you choose to share.
- Live currency conversion calls a third-party exchange-rate API (open.er-api.com) directly from your browser to fetch current rates. That request is made to their service, not routed through ours, and is subject to their own privacy practices.
Hosting: Cloudflare
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and Cloudflare acts as our infrastructure and content delivery provider. As with virtually any website, Cloudflare processes standard technical information as part of serving pages and protecting the site from abuse, including IP address, browser and device type, and request timing. This processing happens at the infrastructure level to operate and secure the site; TokenRateCalc does not separately collect this information or use it to identify individual visitors. Cookies and Tracking
As of the date at the top of this page, TokenRateCalc does not use tracking cookies, analytics that identify individual visitors, or any advertising network. If that changes, for example if display advertising or affiliate tracking is added, this policy will be updated to name the specific services involved, describe what they collect, and link to their own privacy policies and opt-out mechanisms, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect that change.
Your Rights
Depending on where you're located, you may have specific legal rights over data collected about you, including the right to know what's collected, to request its deletion, to correct it, or to object to certain processing. This includes rights under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation for visitors in the EU and UK, and the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act for California residents, among other regional privacy laws. Because this site collects minimal data at the infrastructure level and doesn't operate its own tracking or user accounts, there is little TokenRateCalc-specific data to request, correct, or delete beyond what's described above. Requests relating to Cloudflare's own infrastructure-level processing should go directly to Cloudflare via the policy linked above; requests relating to anything TokenRateCalc does control can be sent via the contact page.
